Transportation

Help Us Help You

If you make any changes to your child's transportation plan, please notify your child's school office. Accurate ridership information allows us to route buses as efficiently and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we work through circumstances beyond the school district's control. Our focus remains on student safety, communication, and minimizing disruption wherever possible.

Bus Route Changes Due to Sewer Construction

The Town of Mashpee is conducting a multi-year sewer construction project that includes rolling road closures throughout town. While this work is planned and managed by the Town, Mashpee Public Schools is working with the Mashpee DPW to minimize disruption to school transportation and prioritize student safety. We will email you with changes to your student’s bus route, please pay close attention to emails from the school about the buses. We have had some same-day changes on very short notice from the Town, so please be alert in the mornings and afternoons for communications. School staff will support students in navigating any bus changes each afternoon.

Important Reminders

  • Unexpected traffic or other delays may affect bus arrival times.

  • Students in grades K–2 must have an adult present at the bus stop in the morning and afternoon. Older siblings in grades 6 and up may also accompany younger siblings in grades K-2.

  • Students should arrive at their bus stop 5–10 minutes before the scheduled stop time.

  • Please ensure that your student is dressed appropriately for the weather while waiting at the bus stop.

  • Students should be outside and ready to board when the bus arrives. Bus drivers are unable to wait more than a few seconds for students, as extended waiting can create a safety hazard for students on and off the bus. If your student is still inside the home when the bus arrives, the driver cannot wait for them.

  • If your bus arrives more than 10 minutes early or late for its scheduled stop time, and you are not aware of any traffic delays, please contact the Transportation Department so we can review and address the bus timing.

  • If you move during the school year, please contact your child’s school right away so they can change your contact information in PowerSchool and let the Transportation Department know of any changes to your bus stop.

If you move during the school year, please contact your child’s school right away so they can change your contact information in PowerSchool and let the Transportation Department know of any changes to your bus stop.
