These NO COST clinics are being held by the Mashpee Board of Health in cooperation with Cape Cod Healthcare Pharmacy, the VNA of Cape Cod, Barnstable County Public Health Nursing Division, and volunteers from the Mashpee Council on Aging.

Eligibility:

• Persons 5 years of age and older are eligible to receive the flu vaccine at this clinic.
• Only persons 65 years and older are eligible for the senior flu vaccine.
• Residents and non-residents of Mashpee are eligible for the COVID and flu vaccines.
• Insured and uninsured persons are eligible; however, uninsured non-residents will be responsible for the cost of the vaccine(s)

Mashpee Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) Meeting

A SEPAC is a Special Education Parent Advisory Council. Every public school district in Massachusetts is required to establish a SEPAC. Membership is free and open to all district parents of children with disabilities (IEPs and 504 plans) 

The role of the SEPAC can include:

• Discussing district special education needs, progress, concerns, and/or questions related to overall district special education programming.
• Meeting with administrators to collaborate on special education programming and policies in our district.
• Providing a support network for families to voice personal concerns and experiences without judgment.
• Organizing surveys to see how our district's special education and general education can improve.
• Providing resources, workshops, and information on events related to special education.

A SEPAC is different from other parent groups in a school district such as a PTA, PTO or School Council -- a SEPAC does not represent families from one school, but represents all families of children with disabilities from the entire school district. CAPE COD PARENTING CLASSES - FALL 2024

Active Parenting is an evidence-based parenting class for families with children ages 0-5 years with Cape Cod Family Resource Center Call (508) 815-5100

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren is a support group for grandparents and kinship caregivers raising children. Meets the third Tuesday of every month with Cape Cod Family Resource Center. Registration required. Call (508) 815-5100.

Nurturing Fathers is a 13-week in-person parenting class offering father's the opportunity to enhance their parenting skills with Cape Cod Family Resource Center. Thursdays from 6-8pm starting September 12, 2024. Dinner provided. Call (508) 815-5100.

Birth & Beyond: A Family Experience a series of four (4) classes intended before the birth of your baby for those 6 to 8 months pregnant. Expectant parents will learn about the labor and birth process, relaxation techniques, pain management, cesarean birth, breastfeeding and what to expect with immediate newborn care with Cape Cod Healthcare.

The Basics of Baby Care for parents, grandparents and caregivers to learn the basics of newborn care including family adjustment and soothing techniques as well as bathing, swaddling, baby safety, sleep and normal newborn appearance with Cape Cod Healthcare.

Our New Baby a virtual class for siblings welcoming a new baby into the family. Explore feelings about becoming a big brother or sister with age-appropriate discussions about the arrival of the baby including role-playing with Cape Cod Healthcare

Ongoing Classes

Active Parenting Online Complete the lessons wherever and whenever you like, and review past lessons as many times as you need during the enrollment period. Online classes also allow you to connect virtually with other parents to hold discussions and complete activities. (Enrollment period differs depending on class.)
