KCCS School Committee Presentation

On Wednesday 2/26, the kindergarten team and their incredible students presented. Literacy was at the core of the presentation with teachers leading short lessons of Heggerty, a cheer about sentence structure, reading fluency and student projects. Principal O'Brien and Assistant Principal Prehna shared Star data and the process we take to review student data. Student progress towards breaking the code of literacy does not happen by accident. Teachers skillfully develop lessons, have a deep understanding of each child and assess student learning while adjusting their own practice to meet the needs of their students. A huge shoutout goes to Ms. Swift, Ms. O'Keefe, Ms. Robbins, Ms. Richmond, Ms. Wilber and their students for their hard work! We also cannot forget the para professionals that are assigned to kindergarten who are integral in academic instruction: Ms. Davis, Ms. McQueen, Ms. Burd, Ms. Walker and Mr. Greendeer.
