AP Environmental Science students visited the community service garden at Tony Andrews Farm and worked with local farmer, Jennifer Christian, of Farming Falmouth, to help plant lettuce, move compost, and plant tomatoes all for donation to local food pantries.

Important dates and information in preparation for graduation:

  • Monday, June 2nd - Rehearsal from 9-11am - Seniors will receive their family graduation tickets, cap, and gown at this rehearsal
  • Thursday, June 5th - Rehearsal from 9-10:30am - Seniors will receive their medical files and student records at this rehearsal
  • Friday, June 6th -
    • 8:45-10:45am - Walk of Honor - Seniors will walk in their caps and gowns through the KC Coombs School, Quashnet Intermediate School, the Mashpee Wampanoag Community and Government Center, and then MMHS
    • 11:05am-12:25pm - Rehearsal
    • 12:30-1:00 - Lunch with the class of 2026
    • 1:15-2:50pm - Class Day - Families are welcome to attend this portion of the day. Please enter through the entrance by the gymnasium

MMHS Environmental Club: One of eight grand prize winners statewide!

The MA Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) recognized 94 Green Teams across the state for "outstanding environmental stewardship and educational activities," and MMHS was one of the grand prize winners. Thank you to our Environmental Club advisor, Shona Vitelli, and our students for this amazing achievement! Here is how mass.gov explained why our Green Team won:

  • The Mashpee Middle-High School Environmental Club, led by Shona Vitelli, supported the implementation of reusable trays for all lunch blocks. The Club also monitored sorting stations to increase organics diversion to 14 gallons of food waste per day. By implementing a sorting station and replacing Styrofoam trays with reusable trays, Mashpee Middle-High School realized a 70% reduction in trash sent to the dumpsters each day.

Mckay Auger and Melania Frye attended the MIAA celebration of the Girls and Women in Sports Day at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. They were chosen by their coaches for their leadership qualities on the field hockey (Auger) and both indoor and outdoor track teams (Auger and Frye).
