MPSSafetyUpdates

School grounds during the school day:

Our schools are nestled within our neighborhoods, and we are fortunate to have such close connections with our community. As part of ensuring our schools remain safe and welcoming places for students and staff, we regularly monitor our school grounds with the support of the Mashpee Police and Fire Departments. We ask that you help us get the word out that being on school property during school hours (i.e. taking a walk) is not permitted. Thank you for helping us keep our schools secure.

First ALICE Drill - September 30:

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. As part of our ongoing safety practices, all schools will conduct their first ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) drill of the year on Tuesday, September 30. These drills are done in an age-appropriate way and are simply another way we help students and staff feel safe and prepared. Just like fire drills, practicing together gives everyone confidence that they’ll know what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency.

ALICE and Safety Assemblies:

This morning, MMHS engaged in their annual ALICE and Safety assemblies with Officer Hennessey and K9 Cara. Here are some pics:

Stained Glass Club is coming back to MMHS. Come to the Makerspace Tuesday afternoons starting on September 30th and use glass to make some creative pieces for yourself or gifts for other people! There are so many options, come make some glass jewelry, a glass mosaic piece of artwork, glass mosaic coaster, or your very own original stained glass hanging! Mrs. Hough will show you step by step how to create a unique piece of art with glass. Stained Glass club is open to all and will run on Tuesdays till 4:30pm!

Mrs. Deschamps' students were inspired by our Hope Squad and Active Minds Club and wanted to do something to support suicide awareness. Check out their artwork that's hanging outside our cafeteria!

Even the mannequins are engaged citizens at MMHS! This week our CNA students were learning about feeding a dependent resident. Our mannequins gave anyone who walking into the Paul Funk Room a pretty good scare!
