A Letter from the Superintendent: Request for families to join a virtual meeting

Dear Mashpee Families,

We wanted to let you know that this year, our district is taking part in a review led by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), in partnership with the American Institutes for Research (AIR). This review is a chance to take a closer look at how things are going in our schools; from the systems and policies we use to how we support students and families. The final report will be public and will help us make thoughtful, informed decisions about what comes next for our district.

As part of the review, the team will be holding focus groups, classroom visits, interviews, and reviewing key documents. We’d love for you, our parents and caregivers, to be part of the process by joining a family focus group. Your perspective matters and will help us paint a true picture of what’s working well and where we can grow.

We’re hoping to include voices from families across all our schools!

Focus Group Info:

The focus group will touch on a few key areas, including:

  • How families receive information about academics and student well-being
  • Ways families can be involved in school or district decisions
  • Supports for students and families, both in and out of school
  • Access to electives, extracurriculars, and advanced classes
  • Services for Students with Disabilities, English Learners, and others needing extra support

We really hope you’ll consider joining this opportunity and sharing your thoughts. Registration is limited to 30 participants and will close on October 9, 2025.

Thanks so much for your continued partnership. We’re grateful to work alongside you in supporting our students.

Warmly,

Dr. Michele Conners

Superintendent

Yes, we're talking to YOU!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a theater program? Did you know that being part of a theater program includes more than just acting? MMHS's own Blue Falcon Theater Company is looking for students interested in being part of their Fall production: The Outsiders! Members of the company include actors, set design and creation, publicity, wardrobe, and many other roles. Come join the fun! Even though the audition date has passed, see Mrs. Reynolds in room B125 if you're interested!

MMHSasEngagedCitizens

Let's celebrate these 14 intrepid MMHS Environmental Club members who spent an absolutely gorgeous Sunday morning on South Cape Beach collecting over 32 pounds of trash. The local coastal ecosystem is a cleaner, healthier place for everyone because of them. Collectively, they walked for miles collecting dozens of cigarette butts, old cans and bottles, plastic wrappers, balloons and so much more.

Students in Mrs. Brodie's math class working diligently during group work. These students exemplify our Portrait of a Graduate as Critical Thinkers and Problem Solvers! Who says math can't be fun???

If you volunteered for the Falmouth Road Race and did not receive a volunteer gift, please stop by B109 and see Mrs. Brodie to receive it! You get to choose between a journal and a coffee mug! They will be sent back to the Falmouth Road Race office on October 9.
