MMHS as Engaged Citizens

Some of our students participated in Residential Construction Career Day! RCCD is an award-winning, annual event that is a collaboration between the MassHire Cape & Islands Workforce Board and the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod. The purpose of the event is to encourage local high school students to explore the construction industry through a series of interactive activities.

WampanoagOutreachOpportunities

In partnership with the Wampanoag Tribal Education Department, I'm excited to share the following opportunities with our MMHS students:

  • Friday, 11/7/2025 - A representative from MS2, a summer math and science program at Phillips Academy, will be available to meet with Indigenous students in grade 9 during lunch periods. This is an informational session about their summer programs. Interested students should check in with the grades 7-9 School Counseling Office for a pass. See attached flyer.
  • Dual Enrollment Students: Cape Cod Community College will be offering a FREE and HYflex Spring semester course titled An Introduction to Indigenous Education. While Indigenous students are encouraged to apply, this opportunity is being offered to all MMHS dual enrollment students. See attached flyer and check in with your school counselor for more information!

We're excited to offer these amazing opportunities to our students and we hope you consider participating!

Students are provided with hands-on learning opportunities, as well as the option to speak with industry professionals regarding future employment, internship prospects, job shadow opportunities, and informational interview options. This exposure links students with industry partners and employers within construction and STEM fields. Construction is a priority sector within the region, leading to full-time, year-round employment and self-sufficient wages. RCCD provides an opportunity to promote career pathways in construction and also make an investment in the workforce of tomorrow.

Homecoming Week was an amazing week! We had 5 days of spirit themes with a ton of participation, a pep rally, a bunch of senior nights for athletics, and a Homecoming Dance on Saturday night. The school spirit was definitely in the air! Thank you to everyone who participated in all of our events. You bring the pride to MMHS!!!

Last night was our annual PowderPuff game. The juniors won 21-0. Sorry, seniors!!!
