Please be aware that Mashpee Sewer Construction is impacting several afternoon bus routes. All changes are currently only affecting afternoon (PM) routes. If your student rides one of the routes listed below, please review the specific route details via the link provided, as timing and stops may be adjusted. Times are approximate and do not reflect traffic delays caused by construction
Impacted Afternoon Routes: M1, M2 , M4 , M5, M6, M8, M10, M19 and M22 - click on the link above for detailed information.
Important Safety Reminders - during road construction
- Students in grades K–2 must have an adult present at bus stops.
- Delays may occur closer to dusk — please plan accordingly.
- Students should dress warmly, as wait times may be longer during winter months.
School staff will be supporting students in navigating any bus changes each afternoon.
Road Closures Affecting School Bus Routes Starting Dec. 15
The Town of Mashpee has begun a multi-year sewer construction project that includes rolling road closures throughout town. While this work is planned and managed by the Town, Mashpee Public Schools is working closely with the Mashpee DPW to minimize disruption to school transportation and prioritize student safety.
What to Expect
- Traffic delays across multiple areas of town.
- Temporary changes to some bus routes, stops, and timing.
- Frequent adjustments as construction zones shift.
- For most families, bus arrival times will vary from what you are accustomed to, particularly in the afternoons.
Phase 2: Beginning December 15
This phase includes a closure on Main Street (Route 130) between Center Street and Cotuit Road.
- Morning transportation should remain largely unaffected, as construction begins at 9:00 a.m.
- Afternoon bus routes will be impacted, particularly Bus 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 19, and 22.
- Some families may:
- Be temporarily assigned a different bus.
- Be asked to use a different stop.
Families with bus routes directly impacted should have received separate email communications with specific details. Please contact the Transportation Coordinator with questions about your child's bus route. For questions about the construction project, please contact the Mashpee DPW at (508) 539-1420.
Help Us Help You
If you make any changes to your child’s transportation plan, please notify your child's school office. Accurate ridership information allows us to route buses as efficiently and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we work through circumstances beyond the school district’s control. Our focus remains on student safety, communication, and minimizing disruption wherever possible.
Looking Ahead
Construction on Main Street will shift to new areas later in the year. Additional construction zones will begin in January, some starting as early as 7:00 a.m., which may affect both morning and afternoon routes. We will adjust bus schedules as needed and notify families as soon as information is confirmed. Please expect ongoing communication as conditions change.
BUS Routes
For student safety, the Mashpee Public School District removes all school bus routes from the MPS website starting October 1st of the current school year.
