Dasia Peters Wampanoag Powwow Princess

Dasia Peters graduated from Mashpee Middle -High School in 2020.  This year she is serving as the Wampanoag Princess.  I thought it would be great to hear from her during National Native American  Heritage  Month.  Dasia shared her role and responsibilities.

Wampanoag Tribe Bi-Lingual Land Acknowledgements

Mashpee School District in recognition of the Mashpee Wampanoag has Bi-Lingual Land Acknowledgements in all classrooms. In the fall of 2019 Mashpee Public School (MPS) District began hanging Land Acknowledgement posters in classrooms and common areas in each of the three MPS school buildings: KC Coombs, Quashnet, and Mashpee Middle/High School.

Congratulations to the Mashpee Public School district one of three Grand Prize 2021 Magna Award winners given by the National School Board Association.  By removing barriers they exemplify school district innovation and creativity in achieving educational equity.
