School News
Welcome to the Superintendent's Spotlight Podcast, where each month we will explore an important topic or initiative being worked on in the Mashpee Public Schools.
I am thrilled to be serving as your Interim Superintendent of Schools. This will be my eighth year as a school superintendent, and I have been in school administration at all levels for over twenty years. I have previously served as an assistant superintendent, middle school principal, and assistant principal. I have also served as the President of the Massachusetts Principal Association and on the Board of Directors of the National Principal Association. I was honored as the Massachusetts Middle School Principal of the Year in 2010. I also taught middle school Math and Science for over ten years. I bring all this experience and focus on student outcomes and well-being to my role here in Mashpee.
Good Evening MPS Community,
We celebrated Mashpee’s Class of 2024 with the Walk of Honor and Class Day.
Good Afternoon MPS Community,
Throughout this week, members of the Class of 2024 have been presenting “Life Impact Diplomas.” This is the third year of this MMHS tradition for our graduates.
On Wednesday we held the grand opening of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s 13 Moons Cultural Courtyard at the Quashnet School. This courtyard represents a collaborative effort between the District and the Tribe.
It provides an opportunity for our Native American students to celebrate their history and culture and to serve as ambassadors of knowledge for their peers and teachers.
Good Afternoon MPS Community,
As you know, Sunday is Mother’s Day. We celebrate all the individuals who fulfill the role of “Mom” in the lives of our students, in their own families, and for others. A mother’s influence and teaching are forever a part of who we are and who we become. “There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.” — Jill Churchill
