We Are a School Choice District

Thinking About Making the Move to Mashpee? We'd Love to Welcome You!

Mashpee Public Schools proudly participates in the School Choice Program, which allows families from outside of Mashpee to apply to attend our schools. If you're looking for a close-knit, student-centered district where your child can thrive, we invite you to consider joining the Mashpee school community.

School Choice for the 2026-2027 School Year

The application process for school choice opens on April 1st. All applications must be submitted to the Superintendent's Office where they will be date stamped. If there are multiple students from one family, please note that separate applications must be completed for each student. The first window will close on April 30th. As a reminder, we accept applications up to April 30th and will hold a lottery if there are more applications received than seats offered.

Please note:
We are not accepting School Choice applications for the following grades:
Preschool, PreK, Grade 7, and Grade 12.

Seats are limited in all other grade levels.

(All required documentation must be submitted for your application to be considered complete.)

Already part of our School Choice family?
No need to reapply—your child's seat is secure.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about what makes Mashpee special, please don't hesitate to contact our Superintendent's Office at (508) 539-1500. We're happy to help!

The Mashpee Advantage: Spaces Built for Your Child

In Mashpee, we believe that learning happens everywhere. Our schools offer unique spaces that you won't find anywhere else in the state. From high-tech labs to professional sports fields, we give every student a place to belong and grow.

Unique to Mashpee: Honoring Our Roots

  • The Wampanoag Courtyard (Quashnet): This is the only space of its kind in Massachusetts. It was designed and built entirely by our Wampanoag students in partnership with the Tribe. It is a living classroom where all students learn about the culture of the People of the First Light.
  • Indian Education Room (MMHS): A dedicated home base for our Native students. It is a place to meet, lead, and celebrate Wampanoag heritage.

Design, Music, and Media

  • Graphic Design Studio: A professional workspace with Macintosh computers and high-end copiers. Students create digital art and print their own professional-quality work.
  • Modern Wood Shop (Applied Tech): Where traditional building meets the future. Students use hand tools alongside a high-tech CNC machine to turn wood into art and furniture.
  • Recording Studios: Students can, under the direction of the Choral teacher, record music in the Choral Room. Or film the daily "Mashpee Minute" news show in our media studio.
  • The Big Stage: Our Auditorium at MMHS is a professional hall for wonderful concerts and theater plays.

Nature and Science

  • Innovation Labs: Modern rooms where students build robots, learn to code, and solve real-world problems.
  • The Vernal Pool & Gardens: Students study wildlife at the Vernal Pool (MMHS) and protect butterflies in the Pollinator Garden (KCCS). We also have community gardens where students grow fresh food.

Wellness and Support

  • Calm Spaces: We help students feel relaxed and ready to learn. We have "Calming Corners" at KCCS and a quiet room called "The Nest" at Quashnet.
  • Sensory Playground (KCCS): A safe, fun playground built with special equipment to help young children play and move comfortably.
  • Therapy Areas (OT & PT): Private, dedicated spaces at KCCS and Quashnet for students to build their strength and physical skills.

Top-Tier Athletics

  • The Big Gym: Our gym is extra-large (one and a half times the size of a normal gym!). It has a movable wall that lets two different teams practice at the same time.
  • Weight Room: A dedicated space with professional equipment where students can build strength and stay healthy.
  • Outdoor Tennis Courts: Well-maintained courts for our tennis teams and students to enjoy exercise in the fresh air.
  • Stadium and Track: Our athletes play on a professional turf field and a safe, rubberized track built for speed.

A Resource for Our Whole Community

Our beautiful campus isn't just for students. We welcome our Mashpee neighbors to enjoy our outdoor spaces when school is not in session.

Play and Exercise: Use our tennis courts, track, and fields for your morning run or a weekend game.

Connect with Nature: Walk by the gardens or visit the vernal pool to enjoy the fresh air.

"Note: We ask that everyone helps us keep our campus clean and safe for our students!"

Safe Spaces: Our playgrounds are open for all Mashpee families to enjoy after school hours and on weekends.
